Dear Fast Food Franchise Owner,

As a business advocate and resource consultant, I came across this news about McDonald’s corporate no longer lobbying against the minimum wage hike and having franchisees bearing the sole responsibility of dealing with the change. Stop Government Spying on Small Business Owners, Oppose H.R. 2513.
Congress recently introduced The Corporate Transparency Act of 2019 (H.R. 2513), under the banner of security. This new legislation threatens to undermine millions of small businesses. If it’s not stopped, the Corporate Transparency Act would require small businesses to gather and report even more information to the government. And this data could be accessed by federal, state, local, or tribal law enforcement agencies for almost any reason and without a subpoena, raising serious privacy concerns.

NFIB wrote to the House Committee on Financial Services, expressing our concern and urging lawmakers to consider the impact this bill would have on small businesses. Large companies and financial institutions may have teams of lawyers and compliance consultants to help gather this information and report it to the government. However, “the paperwork burden, civil and criminal penalties, and risks to privacy directly threaten law-abiding American small businesses.”

I’m encouraging all of you to call your Congressman and urge them to oppose H.R. 2513.

What ads need to be paid for? 
There are a few listing which requires payment, but it is very cheap to do so:

For Rent $25 per the calendar year for up to 5 listings per advertiser; private or business and limited to 5 ad placements per month.

Real Estate is $100 per the calendar year for up to 5 listings per advertiser; private or business and limited to 5 ad placements per month.

Business/Company Ad is $100 per the calendar year for up to 5 ad placements per month. If your business has multiple locations under the same name you may advertise each separately but if you own several businesses, to promote another you need to pay a separate $100 fee.
Business Opportunities Those promoting Business opportunities can become a member for $50 per the calendar year and can promote up to 2 times per day. The $50 membership fee covers only one business opportunity; not several.

Services are listed for $75 per the calendar year; private or business and limited to 5 ad placements per month. Service ads can only be for one service company (ie. If your company offers roofing and siding, you can list both roofing, siding and all that you do).

Job Listings $50 per the calendar year for up to 5 listings per advertiser per week; can be the same job or 5 separate job listings.

NOTE: Ads will not be removed when the item is sold, rented or event has ended. We do not accept personal ads.
